Flooding in Jakarta Forces Transjakarta to Reroute BRT and Mikrotrans Services
PT Transjakarta diverted several bus routes after heavy rain flooded a number of roads in Jakarta on Sunday morning, March 8, 2026. Ayu Wardhani, Head of the Public Relations and CSR Department at Transjakarta, said the changes affected 17 routes.
Ayu said five Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) routes were adjusted. These include Corridor 2A (Pulogadung 1–Rawa Buaya), which was shortened to Damai due to flooding in the Pulo Nangka area of Corridor 3. Corridor 3 (Kalideres–Monas) was also shortened to operate only between Damai and Monas in both directions because of flooding and damaged road dividers.
In a written statement on Sunday, March 8, 2026, Ayu said Corridor 6 (Ragunan–Galunggung) was rerouted due to flooding near the Mampang Underpass.
On Corridor 9 (Pinang Ranti–Pluit), Transjakarta diverted buses through the Slipi 1 Toll Road after flooding of more than 30 centimeters was reported beyond the Grogol Bus Stop. Meanwhile, BRT Corridor 13E (Puribeta–Kuningan) was rerouted through the elevated lane because of flooding at the Mampang Underpass.
In addition to the BRT services, Transjakarta also adjusted 10 Mikrotrans routes. Services on routes JAK.04 (Grogol–Jembatan Dua) and JAK.30 (Meruya–Citraland) were temporarily suspended due to heavy flooding along key sections of the routes.
Ayu added that the JAK.85 route (Bintara–Cipinang Indah) was shortened because floodwaters measuring between 25 and 35 centimeters were reported on Jalan Komplek Cipinang Indah II.
Lane diversions were implemented on several routes, including JAK.108 (Kramat Jati–Bambu Apus), JAK.37 (Cililitan–Condet), JAK.53 (Grogol–Pos Pengumben), JAK.71 (Kampung Rambutan–Pinang Ranti), JAK.75 (Kampung Pulo–Cililitan), JAK.78A (Benda–Penjaringan), and JAK.93 (Jeruk Purut–Kebayoran Lama).
Transjakarta also adjusted two integrated and non-BRT services. The integrated route 1C (Blok M–Pesanggrahan) was affected by flooding measuring up to 50 centimeters on Jalan Ciledug Raya. Meanwhile, the regular route 3E (Sentraland Cengkareng–Puri Kembangan) has been temporarily suspended due to flooding at Simpang Kapuk.
Transjakarta apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers. Ayu urged customers to remain cautious and adjust their travel plans while monitoring the latest route updates.
