16 Dead, 90 Injured in Bekasi Train Crash
The total number of fatalities in the accident involving a Commuter Line train (KRL) and a long-distance diesel train (KRD) at Bekasi Timur Station has risen to 16 as of Monday evening, April 27.
“At around 11:00 a.m. today, we received information at Bekasi City Hospital about a woman with the initials MC, identified as Mia Citra, 25, who has passed away,” said Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, in Jakarta on Wednesday, as reported by ANTARA.
He added that the victim died while undergoing treatment at Bekasi City Hospital.
With this latest development, the total number of victims in the East Bekasi train accident has reached 106. Of these, 90 people were injured, while 16 have been confirmed dead. A total of 44 injured victims have been discharged after receiving treatment, while 46 others remain under close observation and are receiving medical care at various hospitals.
“The death toll has increased by one, bringing the total to 16. We hope there will be no additional casualties,” Budi said.
On Monday evening, Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta received ten body bags containing victims of the train collision at Bekasi Timur Station.

Arinjani Novita Sari, 25, from South Tambun, Bekasi
Nur Ainia Eka Rahmadhyna, 32, from South Tambun, Bekasi
