Ramadan

When the crescent moon appears,
Everyone gets ready to go to the mosque.
 The call to prayer sounds,
 Everyone performs tarawih with reverence.
The tarawih atmosphere brings mixed feelings —
 From children fighting over sarongs
To playful mischief among the congregation in the mosque.

My alarm rings very loudly,
 It’s time for sahur.
I enjoy eating a delicious meal.
The morning call to prayer sounds,
After praying, I recite the Qur’an.

The Maghrib call to prayer sounds,
It’s time to break the fast.
 The kurma is sweet,
Along with sweet and savory snacks.
I enjoy the takjil; it is so delicious.
Thirty days of fasting feel so joyful.
This time will always be missed.
I hope I can meet another Ramadan next year.
