Rabbit

A rabbit wakes with morning light,
Silver dew and skies so bright.
Soft paws press the meadow floor,
Listening for the forest’s roar.

Through clover fields it leaps and bends,
Following paths that never end.
Its ears catch whispers on the breeze,
Secrets carried through the trees.

A cotton tail, a flash of white,
Dancing through the day’s delight.
Quick as rain and light as air,
It vanishes — but leaves wonder there.

When twilight paints the hills in blue,
The rabbit rests where wildflowers grew.
And under stars that softly gleam,
It curls within the moonlit dream.
