Expensive Fan
One day, the weather was very hot, so I decided to buy a new fan. There was an electronics store behind my house, so I walked there after lunch.
When I arrived at the store, I talked to the seller.
“Excuse me. I’d like to buy a fan.”
“Of course. What kind of fan are you looking for?” the seller asked.
“Do you have a fan that costs 11 million?” I asked.
The seller looked surprised.
“Um, I’m sorry, but we don’t. That’s far too expensive for a fan.”
Then the seller smiled and said, “However, we do have our best-selling fan. Let me show you.”
The seller pointed at a white electric fan.
“How much is it?” I asked.
“It’s only 1.5 million,” the seller replied.
“I’ll take it,” I said.
I paid for the fan at the cashier, and the store delivered it to my house that afternoon.
When I got home, the fan had already arrived. I plugged it in and turned it on. It produced a cool and refreshing breeze. The living room became much more comfortable, and my family was very happy. We could relax without feeling hot anymore.
I was glad that I bought the fan. Even though I couldn’t find the 11-million fan, the best-selling fan was a great choice. It worked very well, and I thought it was worth the price.
