Cold Universe

The universe is cold tonight,
its stars like sparks that learned to die,
drifting through an endless black
with no one there to ask them why.

The moon hangs pale above the dark,
a lonely lamp without a home,
while planets turn in silence,
each carrying its own unknown.

I reached my hands toward distant light,
but space kept widening between,
and every wish became a star
too far away to ever reach.

Still, somewhere past the frozen dark,
where nothing speaks and nothing stays,
a little warmth survives the void —
the memory of brighter days.

Perhaps the universe is cold
because it has forgotten spring.
Perhaps we are the warmth it seeks,
the tiny hearts that dare to sing.

So let the endless darkness grow,
let ancient stars fade out of view —
I’ll keep one fragile flame alive
inside this cold universe.
