Chicken Satay
I was a seven-year-old kid. I lived in a small village. Every time I came home from school, my family would only eat rice with soy sauce.
One day, my mother’s friend bought too much food, so she gave some to my mom. That day, we were very happy — we had five portions of satay to eat over several meals. Each meal, we shared one portion as a family. We added rice to make it more filling. The satay was delicious.
Fifteen years later, I worked as an intern at a big company. When I received my first salary, I decided to use it as a reward for myself. Then, I found a street food stall that looked interesting. Following my instinct, I bought two portions of chicken satay and iced tea. The satay was very tasty, and I felt so happy. I finally fulfilled a wish from my childhood.
What a happy day in my life.
