‘80s Era

Neon dreams beneath the streetlight glow,

Cassette songs playing on the radio,

Denim jackets, sneakers worn just right,

We chased forever through the Friday night.

Arcade lights were flashing red and blue,

Every game felt like something new,

A pocket full of quarters, a heart full of dreams,

Life was brighter than it sometimes seems.

Polaroid moments, frozen in time,

Your laughter dancing perfectly with mine,

We wrote our secrets on notebook pages,

And thought we’d stay young through all the ages.

No endless scrolling, no glowing screen,

Just handwritten notes and a Walkman scene,

We waited by the phone, hoping you’d call,

And somehow that waiting meant everything at all.

The moon watched over our midnight rides,

With reckless hearts and nowhere to hide,

We didn’t know those days would disappear —

We only knew we were young that year.

Now the neon feels like a distant star,

And those old cassette songs take me back far —

To a world of dreams, electric and bright,

Where forever began on a Saturday night.
