KCIC Records 25,700 Whoosh Passengers on Chinese New Year Long Weekend

PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) recorded a more than 20 percent increase in passenger numbers during the Chinese New Year holiday compared to a typical weekend.

Eva Chairunisa, General Manager and Corporate Secretary of KCIC, said that on Friday, February 13, a total of 24,381 passengers used the Whoosh service. The figure rose again on Saturday, February 14, reaching approximately 25,700 passengers.

In an official statement issued on Sunday, February 15, 2026, Eva said the number was higher than the usual weekend average of 20,000 to 21,000 passengers per day.

The positive trend is expected to continue through the end of the holiday weekend. As of Sunday morning, more than 12,000 tickets had already been sold. The number is projected to exceed 22,000 passengers by the end of the day.

According to Eva, the surge in passengers during the long holiday was driven by people traveling for leisure as well as visiting friends and family. In addition to holiday trips, many passengers traveled to reunite with relatives ahead of Ramadan.

“This momentum has also contributed to the increase in passenger traffic between Jakarta and Bandung,” Eva said.

KCIC has ensured that all operations run safely and smoothly to provide a comfortable travel experience. The company has optimized its facilities and infrastructure and deployed additional staff at stations.

“During the long holiday, KCIC has also assigned additional service officers to ensure smooth passenger flow and maintain service quality,” Eva added.
